Ficus elastica “Tineke is a slow-growing tree with variegated foliage in shades of green, cream, and burgundy. Bright indirect light is a must to keep a vibrant Rubber Plant and to avoid leaf droppings. They require moderate care and should be watered only when the top two inches of soil feel dry as they prefer a drier medium.
The Tineke thrives in bright indirect light. Plants with variegated leaves like the Tineke tend to have less chlorophyll, a green pigment found in plants responsible for the absorption of light. We suggest avoiding places with lots of shade, or bright direct light as variegated leaves have a tendency to burn when exposed to the hot sun.
We suggest watering the Tineke once a week allowing the soil to drain and dry. The Tineke can tolerate a few missed waterings, however, it is less tolerant to overwatering as it leads to potential root rot.
Similar to humans, plants including the Tineke prefer temperatures of 65⁰ to 85⁰.
Our plant experts have found fertilizer works miracles. Apply a balanced houseplant fertilizer at half strength once every 1 - 3 months and watch your plant grow.
Our Classic Collection features a tapered terracotta design in two sizes and three styles highlighted by its beautiful color and lush green foliage. The Classic is made of terracotta: a porous, breathable material that allows for water and air circulation in the soil and creates a healthy environment for the plant. The word terracotta can trace its roots back to the Latin words “terra cocta” meaning baked earth. This clay-based pot minimizes over-watering and helps plants maintain healthy roots by absorbing excess moisture from the soil. In addition to its health benefits terracotta is known for developing a unique patina that gives it a beautiful and timeless look as it ages. Inspired by the minimalist lifestyle, this planter is simplistic, tasteful, and authentic.
